BURN Taskforce Makes Drug Arrest in Monroe

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones announces the completion of a month long drug investigation by the Butler County Sheriff’s Undercover Regional Narcotics (BURN) taskforce, into John E. Linville, of Monroe. On 02-18-2010, at approximately 9:30 PM, in a joint operation with Monroe Police Department, BURN agents executed a search warrant at the Parkside Inn, in Monroe.

The investigation included undercover purchases of heroin as well as surveillance of Linville. BURN agents had Linville under surveillance and waited for him to return to the Parkside Inn, where he had been staying for approximately a week. Once Linville was taken into custody, officers and agents executed a search warrant on Linville’s hotel room.

Inside Linville’s hotel room, agents located over 15 grams of heroin, capsules of heroin, empty capsules, a scale, and a small amount of marijuana. Linville also had $240.00 on his person.

Linville faces mandatory prison time of up to 10 years and $20,000.00 in fines.
