Alleged Alpaca Beating Duo Arrested After Pursuit
Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones announces the arrest of Stacie Mullins and Nicholas Reynolds. Mullins, age 23, and Reynolds, age 17 (both under indictment on several charges stemming from the beating and theft of an Alpaca earlier this year). Reynolds is being charged as an adult in that case. Both were in a vehicle on SR 122 when it was observed stopped in the roadway, by Sgt. Kent Hall. As Sgt. Hall approached the vehicle it began to speed away. Hall turned on his lights and sirens and a pursuit ensued. Speeds during the pursuit reached approximately 80-90 MPH. Another deputy was able to deploy stop sticks on Trenton Franklin Road near Michael Rd. As the fleeing vehicle approached the stop sticks the driver attempted to avoid striking the stop sticks, lost control, and crashed into a tree.
In the vehicle, Deputies found Nicholas Reynolds behind the wheel and Stacie Mullins as a passenger. A life squad was dispatched to check the welfare of the individuals in the vehicle. The occupants were checked, no medical transports were required. Reynolds was determined to be intoxicated. Two open containers of alcohol were located in the vehicle. Stacie Mullins, a passenger in the vehicle, was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. A third person in the vehicle was not charged. According to Deputies on the scene, Reynolds and Mullins stated they both had been advised to stay away from each other by the Judge hearing their cases.
Reynolds was arrested and transported the Juvenile Detention Center where he is being held without bond. Mullins was arrested and transported to the Butler County Jail, where she is being held without bond.
