Undercover Drug Investigation Nets Arrests
Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports an undercover drug investigation over the last several months resulted in the execution of search warrant yesterday in Hamilton, and the arrest of two persons for drug-related charges, and a third person arrested on outstanding warrants. Sheriff’s Office Drug and Vice Agents had been closely tracking activities of a male suspect drug dealer for a while.
Already armed with a search warrant, agents observed the suspect leave a residence at 206 Rhea Avenue, in the City of Hamilton, driving a 1998 Cadillac. They initiated a car stop of the vehicle, which resulted in the arrest of 24-year-old Wesley M. Hall, 915 Quincy Dr., Hamilton, around 7pm last night. In the vehicle, Agents found approx. 8 grams of cocaine packaged for distribution, scales, and around $600 cash. Hall faces felony charges of Trafficking in Cocaine, Possession of Cocaine, and Permitting Drug Abuse, and a misdemeanor charge of Possession of Drugs, as well as a Driving Under Suspension charge. After being taken to the Butler County Jail, he posted a $9,300 bond and was released. Sharon E. Becker, age 28, of Hamilton, was a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the stop. She was found to have several outstanding misdemeanor warrants through Hamilton Municipal Court. She was also taken into custody.
As Hall’s car was being stopped, other Agents, with assistance from the Butler County Regional S.W.A.T. Team and members of the Hamilton Police Department, executed the search warrant at the Rhea Avenue address. Inside they found approx. 3 grams of cocaine, 3 grams of crack cocaine, and drug paraphernalia. Carolyn N. Brockman, age 20, of the Rhea Avenue address, has been charged with felony charges of Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Crack Cocaine, and a misdemeanor charge for the Drug Paraphernalia. She remains in jail with a $3,000 bond.
