Additional Information from Marijuana Bust in Liberty Township
Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that in the last month the BURN Task Force has seized over 1.5 million dollars worth of marijuana either being harvested in or transported into Butler County with connections to other countries.
On October 9, 2010 during an operation the BURN Unit seized a crate containing a freestanding bar that was shipped to a local address from Texas. The freestanding bar contained 268 pounds of marijuana. The marijuana originated in Mexico, was shipped to Texas and then on to Ohio. Hector Javier Jaramillo and Ronnie Rey Rico were arrested and are facing a mandatory of eight years in prison.
On October 19, 2010 another crate being shipped out of Texas to a local address was seized. This crate contained two freestanding bars and 255 pounds of marijuana. The marijuana originated in Mexico, was shipped to Texas and then on to Ohio. Mario Aguilar from Texas was arrested and is facing a mandatory eight years in prison.
Last night Deputies and Undercover Agents from the Butler County Sheriff’s Regional Narcotics (BURN) taskforce responded to 5782 Sunrise View Circle. BURN taskforce agents located approximately 1,050 marijuana plants with a potential street value of more than $1,000,000.00. A Bay Luong, reportedly from Vietnam, living at 65 Bobtail Way, Monroe, OH and Phuc Ky Luong, reportedly a legal resident from China with a listed address of 2337 21st Avenue #4, Oakland, CA are currently charged with felonies of the third degree.
Sheriff Jones states “It’s a fulltime challenge to combat the war on drugs within the United States, including Butler County. It makes no difference when the drugs are being transported or manufactured from other countries or grown locally. I will not tolerate this type of drug activity in my County.” |
