Bomb Squad Conducting Pearl Harbor Day Exercise

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones announces that the Butler County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad will be hosting a Pearl Harbor Day exercise on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 from 10:00am – 2:00pm. This exercise will be held at the Sheriff’s Office Bomb Range located in the 1900 block of Woodsdale Road, in the rear of the Butler County MetroPark Woodsdale Reserve. (southern Madison Township)

Training will include explosives disposal techniques with loud explosions occurring frequently during the training period.

Agencies involved in the Pearl Harbor Day exercise include: the Butler County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad, Cincinnati Fire Department Bomb Squad, Dayton Police Department Bomb Squad, Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad, Explosives Appraisal Officers (TSA) from Dayton and Columbus International Airports, as well as ATF and FBI Explosives Specialists.
