Liberty Township Crash Results in Fatality
Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that Deputies and members of the Liberty Township Fire Department and Life Squad responded to the intersection of Princeton Road and LeSourdesville-West Chester Road in Liberty Township at approximately 2041 hours in reference to a two-vehicle crash with injuries.
Initial information indicates Joseph Kreider age 64 of Cincinnati, Ohio was traveling Northbound on LeSourdesville-West Chester Road in a 2005 Honda CRV with his wife, Shirley age 62. He failed to yield for a stop sign at the intersection of Princeton Road and struck a vehicle traveling Eastbound. Occupants of the struck vehicle included a male driver, his wife, and a young child restrained in a car seat in the rear passenger area.
Liberty Township Life Squad transported Mr. and Mrs. Kreider to Mercy North Hospital for treatment. Air Care transported the driver of the struck vehicle to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for serious injuries. The Life Squad transported the child to Bethesda North to be evaluated. The child was accompanied by his aunt in the squad. The female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene as the result of her injuries.
Passenger names of the struck vehicle are being withheld pending notification of the next of kin. A supplemental release will be sent upon notification.
This incident remains under investigation by Butler County Sheriff’s Office. Any information regarding the incident should be directed to the Traffic Investigations Division.
