Sheriff’s Office and I.C.E. Team Up for Operation

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones announces that Sheriff’s Office personnel have teamed with Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE) Agents and are conducting a joint operation today targeting the arrest of Criminal Aliens—those who have committed serious crimes while being in this country illegally. Two teams containing personnel from both agencies are searching residences and businesses in Hamilton, Fairfield, Middletown, and West Chester . Those criminals targeted are wanted for or have been convicted of various criminal offenses such as Domestic Violence, Felonious Assault, and for being convicted as a sexual predator. Those arrested are facing deportation proceedings by ICE.

While arresting some of the targeted criminals, ICE Agents have also identified and taken into custody other “Unauthorized Illegal Aliens” present at some of the arrest locations. Some of those have been in possession of illegal documents (fake identification or other cards). Information has also been obtained concerning some employers who may have knowlingly hired illegal immigrants, and that investigation continues. Sheriff Jones wants to send a strong warning to all employers that know they have hired illegals. The investigation into several employers is continuing, and charges will likely be forthcoming.

As of 11:00 am, a total of eight (8) had been taken into custody. The operation continues…
