Operation Targeting Alcohol Sales to Underage Persons Nets Arrests

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports Sheriff’s Deputies and Agents from the State of Ohio Investigative Unit (formerly known as Liquor Control) conducted a joint operation Friday, April 21, with assistance from undercover, underage “helpers,” looking for businesses making illegal sales of alcohol to persons under the age of 21. A total of 21 businesses in Liberty, Madison, Ross, Hanover, and Milford Townships were visited, and underage sales were obtained at 10 different locations. The clerks identified as conducting those sales have all been cited into various local courts with misdemeanor charges of making alcohol sales to underage persons. The businesses will also be facing liquor license violations through the State of Ohio. Those charged, and their employers, include:

Kimberly Meeker, Reds Deli, 2534 Cincinnati-Brookville, Ross Township
Carol Hinds, Ross BP, 4292 Hamilton-Cleves, Ross Township
Gail Hatfield, Ameristop, 4193 Hamilton-Cleves, Ross Township
Elizabeth Knapp, Ameristop, 18 Millville Avenue, Millville
Tracy Bland, Jamie’s Market, 2501 Millville-Oxford, Hanover Township
Jessica Junquera, Marathon, 2560 Millville-Oxford, Hanover Township
Carletta Gregory, Shell, 7088 Liberty Centre, Liberty Township
Corey Grice, Shell, 4200 Hamilton-Middletown Rd., Middletown
Jeffrey French, Poast Town Sunoco, 6300 Germantown Rd, Madison Township
Kathryn Barr, Poast Town Drive-Thru, Madison Township

Further investigation at the Poast Town Drive-Thru resulted in charges of Drug Abuse, Possession of Drug Abuse Instruments, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia against both Kathryn Barr, of Middletown, and Norma Thomas, also of Middletown.
