Fatal Crash in St. Clair Township Claims Two Lives

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports today at approximately 1600 hours Deputies along with St. Clair Squad and Fire responded to the intersection of Jacksonburg and Morganthaler Roads in St. Clair Township for a two-car crash. Preliminary reports show that a motor vehicle (Dodge Neon) driven by a Steven Roberts, age 18, was traveling westbound on Morganthaler Road, had stopped for a posted stop sign then continued into the intersection. A second vehicle (Dodge Dakota truck) driven by a Thomas Haines, age 53, was traveling northbound on Jacksonburg Road and collided with the Dodge Neon in the intersection. The Dodge Neon having (5) passengers in the vehicle, the driver Steven Roberts and a passenger a Danni Bradley, age 16, both transported to local hospitals, another occupant a Ryan Venable, age 16, transported by Care Flight to Miami Valley Hospital. Two other occupants in the Dodge Neon a Josh Blevins, age 16, and a Coty Ferguson, age 16, were pronounced dead at the scene by St. Clair Squad personnel. The driver of the Dodge Dakota truck refused treatment at the scene of the crash.
This crash still under investigation by the Butler County Sheriff’s Traffic Unit and the Butler County Coroner’s Office.
