A two-vehicle crash in Liberty Township results in fatality
Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones announces that at 7:33Am, Deputies along with the Liberty Township Fire Department and E.M.S. responded to the intersection of SR#747 and Kyles Station Rd in reference to a reported two vehicle injury crash.
Preliminary investigations have determined that a 1999 Toyota Camry was being operated Eastbound on Kyles Station Rd at SR#747. Witnessess at the scene reported that the vehicle had appeared to have stopped at a stop sign at the intersection before attempting to precede Eastbound on Kyles Station Rd. As the vehicle entered the intersection, it was struck in the drivers side by a 1996 Toyota Avalon, that was being operated Southbound on SR#747. The impact carried both vehicles off the Southeast side of the intersection.
The operator of the 1999 Toyota Camry, a 71 year old, male black, of Cincinnati, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Butler County Coroner’s Office. His passenger, a 77 year old, male black, of Hamilton, was transported by Air Care to the University of Cincinnati E.R. for treatment of non-visible injuries. Both victims had to be mechanically extricated from the vehicle.
The operator of the 1996 Toyota Avalon, a 40 year old, female Hispanic, was transported to Middletown E.R. by Liberty Township E.M.S. for treatment of minor visible injuries.
The identification of the victims is being held until notification can be made to the families.
The crash remains under investigation of the Butler County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Investigation Unit.
