Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones announces Twitter and Facebook Pages
Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones announces two new ways to receive information from the Butler County Sheriff’s Office. To keep the public informed, Sheriff Richard K. Jones has established a new departmental Twitter account and a new Facebook account.
The Twitter account (@BCSOalerts) is new and distinct from the Twitter account for Sheriff Richard K. Jones (@butlersheriff).
The Facebook page will provide a conduit through which content, which the Sheriff’s Office is already generating, (tweets from the Sheriff, tweets from the agency, job announcements, press releases, Nixle alerts, etc.) are automatically published onto the Facebook page.
Both new social media accounts will be automatically updated when the Sheriff’s Office website is updated with new press releases or Nixle alerts. Nixle alerts are sent out when there is an emergency situation such as a snow emergency or a chemical spill.

These updates will post a title and link to the new updates on the Sheriff’s Office website.
