Butler County Sheriff, Richard K. Jones reports that yesterday, early afternoon, the BURN (Butler County Undercover Regional Narcotics) task force conducted a search warrant at 281 Walnut Street in the City of Hamilton.  The search resulted in the discovery of over 40 grams of heroin and over 40 grams of cocaine.  Agents also located a scale, cutting supplies, and a press machine these items are used to prepare the drugs prior to mid-level distribution.

Search warrant leads to large marijuana bust in Hamilton

Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that around 7:30 PM yesterday, citizen complaints and anonymous tips led undercover agents to 220 North D Street in the City of Hamilton where a large marijuana grow operation was being processed.  A search warrant was jointly executed by agents of the Butler County Sheriff’s Office and the City of Hamilton Police Department.  There were approximately 63 plants and 2 loaded handguns confiscated from the home. James W. Gordley, a 45 year old male, was charged with illegal cultivation of marijuana and trafficking in drugs; both charges are felonies of the 4th degree.

“The charges are higher felonies because of children being in close proximity,” Sgt. Mike Hackney said. “There is a school and a park right across the street.  We expect more suspects and charges to come out of this investigation.”

Children in Home During Drug Search Warrant

Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that at approximately 10:30 p.m. yesterday, a search warrant was executed at 818 Greenwood Avenue in the City of Hamilton by the BURN (Butler Undercover Regional Narcotics) task force. There were two small children in the home during the search.  Albert M. Givens, 28 year old male, was charged with trafficking in Heroin, trafficking in crack cocaine and trafficking in marijuana, all felony charges.  Shannon Ross, 33 year old female was charged with permitting drug abuse, a felony of the 5th degree and child endangering, a misdemeanor of the 1st degree.

“We are seeing crack cocaine more frequently in both small and large scale seizures.  Not only are we dealing with heroin, but it looks like now users may be mixing or using both at the same time,” said Sgt. Mike Hackney, supervisor of BURN. Both subjects were placed in the Butler County Jail.

Two Search Warrants Result In Several Arrests And Drug Seizures

Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that a six month long drug investigation began with a tip and ended yesterday after 2 search warrants and multiple arrests.  B.U.R.N. (Butler County Undercover Regional Narcotics) task force executed the first search warrant at 824 Gordon Smith Boulevard #1 in the City of Hamilton.  Erica Buchanan, a 28 year old female, was charged with trafficking and possession of drugs, both felonies.  She also had an outstanding warrant from the City of Hamilton for a probation violation.  Eduardo Vela, a 23 year old male, was charged with having weapons under disability, a felony of the 3rd degree.  Mr. Vela also had an outstanding warrant for probation violation through the City of Hamilton.  During the search, agnews-releaseents confiscated a pistol, numerous pharmaceuticals, drug paraphernalia and more than 5 grams of heroin.

Agents Execute Three Drug Related Search Warrants

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones announces that agents from the Butler County Undercover Regional Narcotics Taskforce (BURN), with the assistance of the Butler County Regional SWAT Team, executed three search warrants during the early morning hours of Friday August 22, 2014.

At approximately 5:00 am, three search warrants were executed simultaneously at different addresses. One was executed at 321 Washington Street, the second search warrant was executed at 692 Gordon Smith Blvd. Apartment #4, and the third search warrant was executed at the same apartment complex in Apartment #8. All residences are in the City of Hamilton, Butler County Ohio.

The searches netted a large amount of drug paraphernalia, a 9mm semi-automatic hand gun, $5,000.00 in cash, 250 capsules loaded with heroin and 4 vehicles seized including a BMW. Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that around 1:30pm today, deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop near Hancock Avenue and S. R. 4 in the City of Hamilton. When the deputy approached the vehicle, the driver of a 2010 Chevy Malibu took off northbound on S. R.4. The pursuit continued onto eastbound S.R. 129 to southbound Bypass 4 in Fairfield Township. Shortly after turning onto Bypass 4, it appears a passenger in the vehicle jumped from the car and landed in a ditch. Deputies discontinued the pursuit to assess any injuries the passenger may have suffered. The unknown black male, who was covered in blood, got up and ran from the area into a bean field on the west side of the roadway.
