Sheriff’s Deputy Helps Replace Stolen Bicycle

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that one of his Deputies helped brighten the day this past weekend for a young victim of a bicycle theft that happened a few weeks ago. On September 1, 2012, Deputy Matt Maxwell responded to a Howman Avenue address in New Miami, where he took a theft report. It seems someone had stolen a brand new bicycle that belonged to 10-year-old Michael Smiley. While taking that theft report, Dep. Maxwell also learned of some other personal tragedies that had happened to young Michael this year. After finishing the report that day, he drove around the area searching for the stolen bike, but was not successful in locating it.
