If you receive a phone call from someone stating they are with Butler County Sheriff’s Office and they ask for money, it is a scam. The scammer is telling victims they missed jury duty and as a result, have a warrant for their arrest. They are then directed to put money on a pre-paid card and then asked to read the numbers off the card so the money is transferred to them. Be advised, they are using names of officers to make the scam more believable. Please pass this information on to friends and family.
