Crash20130506 2013-05-06_14-25-12_57reducedShortly after midnight on May 6th, a deputy’s cruiser was struck by another vehicle, causing it to hit a traffic signal pole and resulting in injuries to both drivers.

The deputy was traveling westbound on the Columbia Bridge in Hamilton. As he approached the intersection of New London Rd and South B Street, an eastbound vehicle turned left and struck his driver-side door. The collision caused the deputy’s cruiser to strike a traffic signal pole on the passenger side, resulting in significant damage.

As you can see from the picture to the right, the passenger seat of the vehicle was pushed past the center console that holds various electronics, like radios, siren controls and a computer. Fortunately, there was no passenger in the vehicle that night.
