Jones reports in the evening of August 29, 2021 the Butler County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Services Team (ERS) was called up to assist first responders in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and on Monday August 30, 2021 at 0600hrs. The ERS Team was deployed. The effects of Hurricane Ida has overwhelmed their resources in Louisiana in aiding the community and the Sheriff’s Office has responded to assist when and where it is requested. The Sheriff’s Office ERS Team’s primary operation during this mission will be swift water rescue.
Twenty (20) deputies consisting of nineteen (19) ERS and One (1) Critical Incident Manager will be deployed. The Sheriff’s Office Equipment was also requested to assist in utilizing this operation. Eight (8) vehicles to haul personnel and supplies, four (4) boats, one (1) side by side, one (1) command trailer and an ERS truck.
Butler County Sheriff’s Office personnel will be deployed for sixteen (16) days. This operation is funded by the Federal Government.
