Children in Home During Drug Search Warrant

Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that at approximately 10:30 p.m. yesterday, a search warrant was executed at 818 Greenwood Avenue in the City of Hamilton by the BURN (Butler Undercover Regional Narcotics) task force. There were two small children in the home during the search. Albert M. Givens, 28 year old male, was charged with trafficking in Heroin, trafficking in crack cocaine and trafficking in marijuana, all felony charges. Shannon Ross, 33 year old female was charged with permitting drug abuse, a felony of the 5th degree and child endangering, a misdemeanor of the 1st degree.

“We are seeing crack cocaine more frequently in both small and large scale seizures. Not only are we dealing with heroin, but it looks like now users may be mixing or using both at the same time,” said Sgt. Mike Hackney, supervisor of BURN. Both subjects were placed in the Butler County Jail.

Two Search Warrants Result In Several Arrests And Drug Seizures

Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that a six month long drug investigation began with a tip and ended yesterday after 2 search warrants and multiple arrests. B.U.R.N. (Butler County Undercover Regional Narcotics) task force executed the first search warrant at 824 Gordon Smith Boulevard #1 in the City of Hamilton. Erica Buchanan, a 28 year old female, was charged with trafficking and possession of drugs, both felonies. She also had an outstanding warrant from the City of Hamilton for a probation violation. Eduardo Vela, a 23 year old male, was charged with having weapons under disability, a felony of the 3rd degree. Mr. Vela also had an outstanding warrant for probation violation through the City of Hamilton. Two Arrested For Trafficking And Possession Of Heroin

Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that a six week long drug investigation began with a tip and ended yesterday with a search, seizure and multiple arrests. B.U.R.N. (Butler County Undercover Narcotics) Taskforce arrested two people in the parking lot of Penn Station located at 5401 Dixie Highway in the City of Fairfield. Luis Medero-Melendez and Kilsey Pena were charged with possession of drugs, a felony of the 2nd degree and trafficking of drugs, a felony of the 2nd degree. Large Scale Meth Lab Located In Garage In Morgan Township

Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that around 7:30 PM yesterday, an anonymous tip led undercover agents to 5821 Layhigh Road in Morgan Township where a large meth lab was being operated. A search warrant was executed and agents found 3 children residing along with chemicals and supplies to manufacture methamphetamine. They also confiscated guns and other drug paraphernalia.

The children were removed from the home by Butler County Children Services. “The chemicals used to make these dangerous drugs are extremely toxic and children should be nowhere near them,” Lt. Lance Bunnell said.

Two Arrested On Drug Charges During Search Warrant

Richard K. Jones reports that after a three month long investigation the B.U.R.N. (Butler County Undercover Regional Narcotics Taskforce) executed a search warrant at 679 Franklin Street in the City of Hamilton. Traffic Stop Leads To Heroin Bust

Richard K. Jones reports that around 3:00pm yesterday, deputies conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Fair and Hancock Avenue in the City of Hamilton. The driver William D. Mills, a 43 year old male, had a hypodermic needle, 13 ½ grams of heroin prepped for sale, and $400.00 cash in his possession. The B.U.R.N. (Butler County Undercover Regional Narcotics Taskforce) responded to the scene. The course of their investigation led to a search warrant being executed at Mr. Mills residence at 109 West Fairway in the City of Hamilton. Agents Execute Three Drug Related Search Warrants

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones announces that agents from the Butler County Undercover Regional Narcotics Taskforce (BURN), with the assistance of the Butler County Regional SWAT Team, executed three search warrants during the early morning hours of Friday August 22, 2014.

At approximately 5:00 am, three search warrants were executed simultaneously at different addresses. One was executed at 321 Washington Street, the second search warrant was executed at 692 Gordon Smith Blvd. Apartment #4, and the third search warrant was executed at the same apartment complex in Apartment #8. All residences are in the City of Hamilton, Butler County Ohio.

Drug Cases on the Rise

BURN (Butler Undercover Regional Narcotics) is a multi-agency narcotics taskforce hosted by the Butler County Sheriff’s Office. The taskforce is designed to use the resources and information of multiple agencies more effectively to combat the growing drug problem in our county.

BURN investigated a total of 542 drug-related cases in 2013. This was a marked increase of nearly 65% over cases investigated in 2012. Similarly, drug arrests were up by about 58% over the previous year.
