Butler County Sheriff’s BURN Taskforce Raids Middletown Drug House

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that the Butler County Undercover Regional Narcotics (BURN) taskforce along with the Butler County Regional SWAT team raided a Middletown residence in the pre-dawn hours of March 26, 2015. Sheriff Proposes 5 Year Contract To Fairfield Township

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones sent a letter to the Fairfield Township Administrator, Ken Geis with a proposal to save the tax payers money and still provide police service to the citizens 24/7.  The proposal would eliminate the $4.8 mill levy from going on a ballot.

Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that at approximately 10:30 p.m. yesterday, a search warrant was executed at 818 Greenwood Avenue in the City of Hamilton by the BURN (Butler Undercover Regional Narcotics) task force. There were two small children in the home during the search.  Albert M. Givens, 28 year old male, was charged with trafficking in Heroin, trafficking in crack cocaine and trafficking in marijuana, all felony charges.  Shannon Ross, 33 year old female was charged with permitting drug abuse, a felony of the 5th degree and child endangering, a misdemeanor of the 1st degree.

Two Search Warrants Result In Several Arrests And Drug Seizures

Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that a six month long drug investigation began with a tip and ended yesterday after 2 search warrants and multiple arrests.  B.U.R.N. (Butler County Undercover Regional Narcotics) task force executed the first search warrant at 824 Gordon Smith Boulevard #1 in the City of Hamilton.  Erica Buchanan, a 28 year old female, was charged with trafficking and possession of drugs, both felonies.  She also had an outstanding warrant from the City of Hamilton for a probation violation.  Eduardo Vela, a 23 year old male, was charged with having weapons under disability, a felony of the 3rd degree.  Mr. Vela also had an outstanding warrant for probation violation through the City of Hamilton.  During the search, agnews-releaseents confiscated a pistol, numerous pharmaceuticals, drug paraphernalia and more than 5 grams of heroin.

Two Arrested For Trafficking And Possession Of Heroin

Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that a six week long drug investigation began with a tip and ended yesterday with a search, seizure and multiple arrests.  B.U.R.N. (Butler County Undercover Narcotics) Taskforce arrested two people in the parking lot of Penn Station located at 5401 Dixie Highway in the City of Fairfield.  Luis Medero-Melendez and Kilsey Pena were charged with possession of drugs, a felony of the 2nd degree and trafficking of drugs, a felony of the 2nd degree.  The subjects were in possession of 4 ounces of heroin.   When taken into custody, Medero-Melendez had a loaded .45 caliber handgun in his waistband.

Large Scale Meth Lab Located In Garage In Morgan Township

Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that around 7:30 PM yesterday, an anonymous tip led undercover agents to 5821 Layhigh Road in Morgan Township where a large meth lab was being operated.  A search warrant was executed and agents found 3 children residing along with chemicals and supplies to manufacture methamphetamine.  They also confiscated guns and other drug paraphernalia.

The children were removed from the home by Butler County Children Services.  “The chemicals used to make these dangerous drugs are extremely toxic and children should be nowhere near them,” Lt. Lance Bunnell said.
