Butler County Sheriff's Office Emergency Response Services Unit Prepared for Potential Severe Weather
Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that the Butler County Sheriff's Office Emergency Response Services (ERS) Unit is closely monitoring a developing severe weather threat expected to impact the area overnight.
According to Butler County Sheriff's Office meteorologists, a strong weather front is predicted to move through the region between 1:00 AM and 5:00 AM, bringing the potential for:
• Large hail measuring 1 to 3 inches in diameter,
• Wind gusts exceeding 60 mph, and
• The possibility of isolated tornadoes.
Following the passage of this front, conditions are expected to improve throughout Friday. However, another cold front is forecasted to move in Friday evening, bringing a renewed risk of severe thunderstorms.
The Emergency Response Services (ERS) Unit is fully prepared to respond to any critical incidents that may arise. Additionally, the Butler County Emergency Operations Center is on stand-by and will coordinate with the ERS Unit should activation be required.
Sheriff Jones urges all Butler County residents to remain vigilant and prepared:
“Always be ready for turbulent weather. Make sure you have flashlights with fresh batteries, bottled water, and an emergency food supply readily available.”
The Butler County Sheriff's Office will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary.
