Lakota East High School Teacher Arrested on Sexual Battery Charge
Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that on August 4, 2025, detectives with the Butler County Sheriff’s Office concluded a criminal investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct involving a staff member at Lakota East High School. The investigation resulted in the arrest of 42-year-old Justin Daniel Dennis, who has been charged with Sexual Battery, a third-degree felony.
Detectives initiated the investigation after receiving information regarding an inappropriate sexual relationship between Dennis and a female student that occurred during the 2021–2022 school year. At that time, Dennis was employed as a teacher at Lakota East High School and served as the advisor of a student assistance group in which the victim participated.
After conducting an extensive investigation and gathering sufficient evidence, detectives obtained a warrant for Dennis’s arrest. He was taken into custody without incident and is currently facing criminal charges in Butler County.
Sheriff Richard K. Jones issued the following statement:
“This case is deeply disturbing. Teachers are placed in positions of trust and authority, especially when working closely with students. Just like law enforcement officers, they are expected to uphold the highest standards of conduct. This betrayal of trust will not be tolerated. We will continue to aggressively pursue justice for victims and ensure the safety of our children.”
If there are any other potential victims of Justin Dennis, please contact Detective Steel at 513-759-7347.
