LEMON TOWNSHIP SUSPECT CHARGED WITH DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND CRUELTY TO ANIMALS
Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that on Monday, May 12, 2025, at approximately 6:15 p.m., the Butler County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol Deputies were notified of a disturbing video circulating on social media. The video depicted a female striking her boyfriend with a closed fist, choking a dog—causing the animal to make sounds consistent with labored breathing—and forcefully throwing the dog to the ground.
Deputies responded to 712 Buena Avenue in Lemon Township to investigate the incident. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with both the male and female parties involved. After gathering sufficient evidence, deputies placed 28-year-old Katelin Conklin under arrest.
Conklin was charged by the Butler County Sheriff’s Office with Domestic Violence (Misdemeanor 1). Additionally, through coordination with the Butler County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Dog Wardens she was also be charged with Cruelty to Animals (Misdemeanor 2) through Middletown Municipal Court.
“This type of behavior is unacceptable,” said Sheriff Jones. “We take both domestic violence and animal cruelty very seriously, and we will always pursue charges when the evidence supports it.”
